Protecting your body

January lessons in the Counselor's office have been on protecting your body.  Students are taught their body belongs to them and no one has the right to touch them in a way that makes them feel strange or uncomfortable.  The Protect Yourself Rules are introduced to students which include these concepts:

  1. Tell a Grown Up
  2. Safe Touch, Unsafe Touch
  3. Doesn't Matter Who it is
  4. Shout, Run Tell

Keeping children safe from abuse is a priority.  If a child is ever in an abusive situation, we want to empower them with the knowledge that it's OK to tell and it is not their fault.  Talk with your child about this important topic and refer to the pdf file about recognizing predators.
