I am Kim McFerrin Schwertner. I am a 1975 graduate of PN-G and a 1978 graduate of Sam Houston State University. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, with a minor in Philosophy and Government. After spending 20 years raising children, I decided to go back to school and I received my education degree from Lamar State College- Orange. I am certified in Social Studies Composite 8 - 12, English 4 - 12, and am also ESL certified. Previously, I taught 9-12 English at Bob Hope High School. Then, I taught reading in 5th grade at Tyrrell Elementary. i have lived in this wonderful community my entire life and I am thrilled to return to my roots and share my multicultural experiences and my hometown love with my students here at PN-G. I have 3 beautiful children: Summer (2000), Sabrina (2003), and Slate (2006). I have 2 beautiful granddaughters: Scout (2030), and Scarlett (2033) amd a grandson, Stetson (2040)..
