Welcome to "Reeves' Review," my first grade web page! My name is Jodi Reeves. I have been teaching Kindergarten for eighteen years, and each year has been a blessing. I am excited to have your child in my class, and I want to thank you for entrusting your precious child to me. Together, we will make this a successful and memorable year for us all.
Having a successful first grade year will have a profound and long-lasting effect on your child. It is my hope that all my students would develop a love for learning that began with our partnership in your child's education, and, I believe, each child will. My door will always be open to the parents of my students so that, together, we can help ensure that each child reaches his or her full potential.

Please check your child's "take-home notebook" every day!
Parents, take-home folders are sent home each day. Inside you will find finished work and school-related correspondence. Please check your child’s folder every day. This folder will also include your child’s “Daily Behavior Report.” Your child will color the appropriate box and I would like you to initial the bottom space each day. Please leave the daily reports in your child’s folder. …

Attendance
Your child is encouraged to be at school every day. If your child must be absent, you must send a signed and dated note upon their return. School begins at 7:50 each day. Your child will be marked tardy if they arrive after 8:05.

Clothing
Since our activities are school will be include arts and crafts, please be careful in choosing your child’s clothing. I will attempt to ensure that my students take care of their clothes, but accidents do happen, so please choose clothes that are easy to clean and are also comfortable. Shoes with rubber soles (tennis shoes are best) are required in PE and at recess. Please send your child to …

Transportation
Your child should not arrive at school before 7:30. There are no teachers on duty until that time. It is very important that I know how your child will be going home each day. If there is a change from the normal routine, please send a note letting me know or call the office and leave a message, being careful to allow enough time for the message to get to me before the end of school. Class Rules
I believe that all of my students can behave appropriately in my classroom. To ensure that each child has the best possible opportunity to learn in my classroom, I will require certain behavior in my classroom and enforce rules any 5-6 year old child should be able to follow. Emergency Cards
It is crucial that the emergency contact information for your child be kept current. If any of your information changes, please contact me, as well as the school nurse, to let us know to update your information. In the event of an emergency, having current information will allow us to meet the needs of your child as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.

Lunch
Each child is issued a PIN number that must be memorized. (We wear lunch clips with the numbers on them until we learn them.) The sooner they memorize their number, the easier it will be for them to go through the lunch line. We will send home a practice page to help with this.
