Welcome
I am so excited that we will be working together. Each child is unique and special. We will work together and have fun unlocking those strengths and improving math and reading. Parent involvement is strongly encouraged. Let's make this a team effort! Please check agenda books daily and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Homework
Math is a skill you can practice daily with your child. Problem-solving is what math is all about at this level. Practice asking your child - would we add or subtract, tell time, and let them count money. We will be covering all these things and discussing how we use the information in our everyday lives. This will give them even more reason to succeed.
Reading is also a skill that should be practiced daily. Please read with your child every night. This is a great way to spend quality time with your child. Taking turns with them and modeling what a good reader sounds like is very important. Reading menus, street signs, advertisements, and billboards is an easy way to work with your child while on the go. Reading is a life skill!
