I graduated high school in 1997 from Bridge City, Go Cards! I then went to Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and pursued a Bachelor's in Psychology, graduating in 2003. After working in Human Resources for a year, I realized I would like teaching much better. I went back to Lamar, this time in Orange, and got my Alternative Teaching Certificate and substituted in Port Neches Elementary. In 2005, I got an English position at Marshall Middle School in Beaumont for 6th and 7th grade. While I worked there 8 years, I ended up changing from Language Arts to Science after 4 years. This change meant obtaining a new certification, so now I have two areas of certification. After interviewing for an open Science position, I became the new 7th grade Science teacher and remained there for the next 4 years. In 2013, I changed to Groves Middle School to be closer to my home and my daughter. I have now been here teaching 8th Grade Science and a handful of other things and am so happy to call this home.
