Associate of Science in Liberal Arts Bachelor of Arts in English
My name is Christina Roe, and I will be teaching English III and English III ESL. I have lived in Southeast Texas most of my life, but my background is multicultural. My father was born in Texas, but my mother immigrated here from San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Due to my Hispanic background, I have a strong passion for helping students that are English Language Learners. It is important to me for these students to feel as successful and welcome in the classroom as their English native peers.
I graduaed from Lamar University in May of 2018 with a Bachelor Degree in English. Over the course of my education, I have developed a strong commitment to learning and a passion for helping students. I have been teaching at PNGHS for a year now, following my internship here in the spring of 2018. I am greatly looking forward to my second year on this campus.
Famiy is very important to me. In my time as an intern here, I developed close ties with my students, and I encouraged an atmosphere in the classroom that fosters not only learning, but acceptance. I am a devoted wife and mother of four fantastic children, one that is mine biologically, and three that I am lucky enough to call mine, though they are from my husband's first marraige. In today's society, blended families are becoming more common, and in my classroom, I want for all my students to feel like they are part of one big, blended family.
