• I give at least one chapter test and one vocabulary test per six weeks in each subject taught.
    • Daily grades (informal assessments) will consist of worksheets based on information from textbooks and other sources.
    • Vocabulary lists will be given to students usually a week prior to the vocabulary test. In addition, vocabulary words will be made on index cards for each chapter as they are covered in textbook.
    • There will be a separate vocabulary test and Chapter test (formal assessments) for each chapter covered.
    • Open book tests with with page numbers in a multiple choice format  will often be given for a chapter test grade.  We have found that this strengthens student reading skills in a textbook format.  
    • Occasionally a closed book test will by given and a study guide will be provided.  Information on study guides will be tested using a multiple choice format over same information.
    • At teacher discretion, second chances may be given.  In these circumstances, the vocabulary section on worksheets may be corrected in red pen and regraded.  The original grade and corrected grade will be averaged. Second chances on tests usually consist of reviewing over study materials and retaking test with an average applied.
