    Mrs. Brashers' 2nd Grade Class

Hello!  Welcome to 2nd Grade!  My name is Amy Brashers.  I am so happy to have your child in my class.  I am looking forward to a wonderful year.
I graduated from PN-G High School in 1997 and went to Lamar University.  In 2002, I graduated from Lamar with a degree in Education and a specialty in Math.  I taught 4th grade in Orange for one year before I came to Van Buren.  This is my 18th year at Van Buren.  I taught 3rd grade for 7 years, and this is my 11th year in 2nd grade.

I am married and have two step-daughters, and 3 sons.  My husband, Kevin, and I will be married for 19 years in March.  He works for Newtron in Nederland.  My step-daughter, Courtney, is 28 and is a cardiovascular radiologic technologist at St. Elizabeth Cath Lab.  She is married to my son-in-law, Josh.  My step-daughter, Shelby, is 26 and teaches 5th grade at Groves Elementary.  My son, Brady, is in 10th grade at PNG High School, my son, Blake, is in 8th grade at Groves Middle School, and my youngest son, Braxton, is in Mrs. Sturdivant's Kindergarten class here at Van Buren.  They all LOVE sports and keep us so busy in the evenings and on the weekends.

I look forward to getting to know you and your family as the year progresses.
